How are calories calculated in a workout?

At FitOn, we use your heart rate information from Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, or Android devices to help calculate calories. These devices provide accuracy and precision when estimating your workout stats because they incorporate the rate at which you burn calories at rest and your daily activity to estimate the total calorie burn. Including your heart rate means the accuracy of the data is further increased when calculating the estimated calories burned during exercise.

If you do not have a connected heart rate device, we use your BMI (height, weight) and age, paired with the unique intensity profile of each of our workouts to help calculate a more accurate estimate of calories burned.
